My Story
​
As a self-published author, I am excited to learn the business of marketing and selling my work. My first children's book, The Tiny Tree, and my second book, Clarissa the Catty Kitty are now available on Kindle and paperback on Amazon.

Personally, I have been writing since I was little; in fact, I won a writing contest in 5th grade for a story about a fox and a turtle, and from then on, I've been hooked.

Currently, I teach other writers how to develop their own communication style in composition courses. Also, I am the Director for the Center for Student Success at a small private college in Central Illinois.

The Tiny Tree
The story of The Tiny Tree is the story of us all. It tells how a young tree must learn certain wisdom to ensure his growth and development. Helped along by his elders, the tiny tree takes a hero's journey, developing strength, flexibility, confidence and bravery as he weathers the challenges of all living things.
"One warm, blue day, a tiny tree was brought to a new place for him to grow. He was being given a home. The tiny tree was thrilled. He sat in a tiny pot looking onto a tall, brown house. He felt joy from the pointed ends of his roots, to the tippy-tops of his branches."
